LENOX, MA–For the third consecutive season, The Mount celebrates its partnership with The Wharton Salon, which this summer will present “Autres Temps…,” based on a short story by Edith Wharton, from August 17-28, 2011. Performances will take place at the stable at The Mount from August 17-28 on two weekday evenings (Wednesday and Thursday at 5:30 pm) and on weekends (Saturday at 10:30 am and 3:00 pm, and Sunday at 10:30 am). General admission tickets are $35 each. For tickets and information, visit EdithWharton.org or WhartonSalon.org, or call 800-838-3006. The Mount is located at 2 Plunkett Street in Lenox, Mass.
Edith Wharton’s 1911 short story about divorce American style, “Autres Temps,” was adapted by Dennis Krausnick with a theatrical twist: instead of the early 20th century, the play is set in 1962. The cast includes real-life mother and daughter Diane Prusha and Rory Hammond playing Mrs. Lidcote and daughter Leila; Corinna May as Susy Suffern; and James Goodwin Rice as Franklin Ide. The play is directed by Catherine Taylor-Williams; costumes are designed by Arthur Oliver.
