Shakespeare & Co. Offers Presidents’ Weekend Entertainment

It’s here! The Mystery of Irma Vep.

Among the Presidents’ Weekend offerings in the Berkshires, is this play at  Shakespeare & Co. You can walk there from our Lenox B&B.

The notorious Kevin G. Coleman is back at it again (Rough Crossing, The Ladies Man and last summer’s The Winter’s Tale), this time with a zany romp through the mysterious and the sublime. This OBIE Award-winning, madcap escapade is sure to leave you breathless with laughter, while its expertly constructed story manages to both send-up and celebrate the traditional Gothic mystery.

The Mystery of Irma Vep features two actors—Josh Aaron McCabe and Ryan Winkles, back together after 2009′s hit The Hound of the Baskervilles—playing eight roles, as they wield a healthy mix of storytelling genres, from Hitchcock to Victorian melodrama to lurid, 19th Century pulp fiction (or, in British parlance, ‘penny dreadfuls’).
