The next program in the Distinguished Lecture Series presents DANIEL KLEIN, co-author of the international bestseller Plato and a Platypus Walk Into a Bar: Understanding Philosophy through Jokes.

Mr. Klein majored in philosophy at Harvard University and has therefore naturally worked as a writer for television comedies and quiz shows, writing jokes for such comedians as Flip Wilson, Lily Tomlin, and impressionist David Fry.

He has also written 30 books, fiction and nonfiction, including a mystery series featuring Elvis Presley as a detective (Kill Me Tender, Blue Suede Clues, etc.). Daniel Klein is also the co-inventor of the board game “Group Therapy.”

Together with the other “philosophy guy” he has most recently published Aristotle and an Aardvark Go to Washington, a book that deconstructs the double-talk, high-falutin prose, and deliberate disingenuousness of politicians. He will be talking about his latest book.

All programs in the series are free & open to the public.
